Patch-up Job

Visually focusing on how things are fixed through art magnifies the question of what do we value enough to mend and what life circumstances impact repairing something? This project focuses on ideas about restoration, resources, and creativity in relation to our natural world through the eyes of a mender, an artistic seamstress of sorts. I plan to bring forth hopeful, actionable steps that revolve around the ideas of what it means to be a mender and how artists can incorporate environmentally friendly options and/or actions in their studio art practice at low-cost. This research will be included in and shown in a zine that available to the public soon. This work was initiated in 2019 and is an ongoing project.
